Don recently retired from Bell Labs after 30 years where he was a Technical Manager specializing in International Switching. He now has more time to devote to his hobbies: travelling, genealogy, Macintosh, reading, thinking, etc. Don has visited all 50 states and over 90 countries. From 1991 thru 1996, he visited Japan 60 times. He is a member of the Circumnavigators Club, an organization for people who have been around the world. What started as a tracing of his family tree (one discovery: 5 ancestors on the Mayflower), has lead Don to a deep understanding of the values of the people who settled New England and their dramatic and fundamental impact on world history. Don would love to write a book on this story. Don got a Macintosh in 1986. Since Don learned to progam in 1964, he appreciated the Mac's revolutionary improvement in the human interface. The Mac helped him become financially independent. Politically, Don is a Libertarian and was the LPI candidate for U.S. Senate in 1986. He co-founded the Objectivist group in Chicago in 1967 which was the pre-cursor to the NIF. Send email to Don. |
