Internet index Bomis.com hasn't gone away yet, the company confirmed this morning in a publicly released memo.

"We are still here, and we are still plugging away," the memo stated.

A Bomis spokesman was on hand to relate the story behind the news. "For the past few weeks there have been many rumors swirling about. Some claimed Bomis would go away. Others claimed we would not. We talked it over and decided to set the issue straight, before things got really out of hand."

The memo, though highly informative and written in a sprightly, accessible style, left many questions unanswered, such as, would Bomis be going away at some point in the future? And if so, where would it go to?

Bomis, located at www.bomis.com, is an index of member built rings. Each ring has a specific subject, and links to various other web sites on that subject. Visitors can navigate from site to site within the ring using special navigation tools developed by Bomis.
