"It really came down to timing," a Bomis spokesman told reporters. "We've talked about this before, and we finally agreed that it was time to pull the trigger."

The press release, which documents the details of the company's first press release, came as no surprise to industry insiders, many of whom have been expecting a press release for some time. "It was a long time coming," said one commentator.

Bomis executives confirm that there had been a great deal of internal debate about the initial press release. "We reviewed a number of alternatives before making a final decision," a spokesman claimed. "We must have spent about 200 man hours on it. But I think in the end we got it right. This is a fine press release."
